Ushering 2020๐ŸŽ‰

Hey January...  Welcome to our lives!

When you usher, just like the mythological Roman God Janus, you mark the beginnings and transitions in our lives even in the present era. You show us the past and the future, both at the same time, while we are still in the present. While you make us nostalgic of the past with its memories and lessons and a bit of retrospection for sure, you also usher us into the newness of the present, and at the same time bring us the hopes & wishes for the future... Thank you for being so versatile.

Particularly, this very new year 2020... as I say twenty-twenty, it brings out an unusual trendiness attached to its very pronunciation! Funny it may sound, but on a subconscious level, I attached it to our cricket matches and was wondering if its going to be that interesting, power-packed, fast and engaging too? Let's toss the coin... And now what comes to my mind is that our present captain Mr. Kohli is by far mostly pro at losing the toss in maximum matches, and still winning the matches! So, in the same spirit, come-may-whatever, we do resolve to say Happy New Year 2020 to ourselves and this world!
New Year may mean different things to various people. While some may consider it to be only a change in calendar dates, some consider it to be the right time to put on some resolutions to stick to. Some may indulge into retrospection of the gone year, when others are busy partying for the simple joy of entering into a new year. Beginning of January is probably the most sought after date to pick up some new good habits, or in contrast, even give up a few bad habits. I truly like this kind of contrast and balance that the month of January brings with it. Practically, in the first half of the month people are literally full of enthusiasm and energy to keep up to their resolutions, and the later half of the month makes us decide which resolutions are good to go... go on or go away! That exactly is one reason I chose to post this blog at the end of January... So begins my story of umpteen resolutions! Followed by it, you can have a glimpse of February in my earlier blog Love of Souls๐Ÿ’“: This February๐Ÿ˜‡

Stage 1. Till the time I was just a school or college student, my resolutions included review of my study plan and exam preparations, plus vague self-promises by acts that led me get better in the school of life. For eg- helping someone each day, caring for my pot-plants for a short-duration regularly, spending a little time to pray to God daily, playing and recreation time etc. (See more: Exam Time: The Suffering Soul๐Ÿ˜‰ )

Stage 2. Later, with job and family, my new year resolutions became more of a balancing act to divide all my time earnestly to my work and home. I acted on my office work completion targets and household management skills plus nurturing relationships with due weightage. These also included catering to emotions like first gifts bought using my own salary, and those like planning family holidays to spend some good time with my dear ones etc.

Stage 3. Some years later, with little kids in picture, a few new years went by without getting time to make resolutions, and if at all I dared to think of some, that too of a new kind that arose by demands of life... like trying to lose some weight, find minimum sleep time, visit a beauty salon for basic upkeep etc, it all drastically went for a toss by the end of January.

Its relevant to put that Janus is represented as a God who has two faces, seeing in opposite directions, past and future. I am one of those enthusiasts who do take a glimpse of the past but nevertheless, I am hopeful and wishful and always ready to embrace a better and more beautiful future. So, here I am... Resolving again... Resolution to go with the flow...the path of least resistance! Meanwhile, to be good, to do good. To live in the present. To be fit. To help those I can. To seek what I like. To speak my will. To knock my long lost friends. To know, to tell, to ask and to hear, and also to be quiet sometimes. To spend time with myself ! To thank the universe for all the goodness around me... and to thank it for the courage that I have been able to walk through the darkness too... (See More: Friends๐Ÿ‘‘... Of Soul๐Ÿ’“ )But not everyone in this world is privileged enough to keep counting the blessings. There are woes, regrets, cruelty, fear, pain, bias, poverty, displeasure, accidents and countless heartening things all around us, making it hard to ignore these for any good... one just cannot. Its humane to be effected. Specially when it touches us or hits our known ones... we even act against our self-images.

With all the climatic changes, global scenarios of economy and business, political tornado of events, activities on social platforms, heinous acts of crime in contrast to selfless acts of humanity, the gossip about the human rights, the shift of ethics and moralities, the intermingling of cultures and lifestyles, the non-stop debates and arguments, one feels lost in the rush-hush. What to do... where are we heading to... what we need... what are we here for? The answers are quite simple... the ones that came to my mind when I asked myself are here:

What to do?
Ans- Let's be more humane...

Where are we heading to?
Ans- Wherever, but let's work upon heading towards peace...

What we need?
Ans- Balance !!!

What are we here for?
Ans- Let's find our power within... Let's celebrate life!

With this hope and wish, let us together usher into the new era and year 2020!!! Best wishes for Love, Peace and Humanity!๐ŸŒ✨๐ŸŽญ๐ŸŒŸ

Tinkle Tinkle... Be good!  ๐Ÿ”ฎ
